Music and Arts

Space to create and perform

Art and music are woven into College life, offering space to explore your talents or try something new. Join the annual College Play, share your voice at talent nights or rehearse in our soundproof music rooms. Whether you are creating for fun or performance, all artistic interests are welcome.

Made for music

Our music facilities include five pianos, among them Bösendorfer and Blüthner Grand Pianos, alongside two drum kits, music stands and ergonomic music chairs. Residents have access to purpose-built rehearsal spaces designed to support both solo practice and collaborative sessions.

Performance opportunities

Residents regularly perform at College events, from formal dinners and open mic nights to the Inter-College Battle of the Bands. No matter your campus, there are many ways to get involved, whether on stage, behind the scenes or in collaboration with others.

The annual St Catherine’s College play is a celebration of creativity, collaboration and community spirit. Directed by an alumna of the College and performed and crewed entirely by residents, the production brings together aspiring actors, designers and technicians in a vibrant showcase of student-led talent.

Visual Arts

Visual arts sessions are open to all residents and guided by an experienced artist. These weekly sessions provide a relaxed space to develop your own projects while learning about colour, composition and technique. Materials are provided, and creativity is always encouraged.
