Your guide to moving into St Catherine’s College at UWA

Starting university marks a new and exciting chapter. We’re here to ensure your transition to College life is smooth and welcoming. This page includes everything you need to know to prepare for your arrival at St Catherine’s.

Before you arrive

Complete admissions forms and contracts
All documentation must be completed, submitted and processed before arrival. Room access cannot be granted until this is finalised.

Confirm arrival date and time
Your arrival date is the same as the start date listed in your contract. If you plan to arrive after this date, please inform the College. We kindly ask that you arrive on a weekday between 9.00am and 4.00pm.

Read the College Handbook
This will help you understand what it means to live at St Catherine’s. With over 400 residents, we follow a shared code of conduct to ensure everyone feels safe, respected and at home.

What to bring

Your room
Rooms are semi-furnished to provide you with a comfortable, welcoming space. All you need to bring are your linens and any special touches to make your room feel like home. If you are staying in a Studio Room, please note that you will need to bring your own crockery.

Formal Hall attire
Please bring suitable attire and appropriate footwear for events. This includes skirts or pants, dresses, heels or nice sandals, button-up shirts, dress pants and dress shoes.

Staying connected

We share important updates and event details through the following channels:

Weekly Bulletin
Emailed every Sunday with important updates and a snapshot of the week ahead. Please make sure to read it each week.

Social Media
Follow our official Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn channels to stay informed and involved.

Residents are expected to follow the social media guidelines of both the College and The University of Western Australia.

Orientation Week

O’Week takes place at the start of each semester and is designed to help you settle in before classes begin. Across welcome events, workshops, tours and info sessions, you will connect with fellow residents, meet staff and start to feel at home.
