From Campus to Corporate with Ellaby Hansen (Fr 2020)

Ellaby Hansen (Fr 2020) returned to the College for a Campus to Corporate session with residents.

A strong cohort of medical and nursing students shaped the discussion, focusing on pathways from study into industry and the practical steps involved.

Ellaby works in research and development, focusing on building and improving new technology at VeinTech.

This includes developing devices that help clinicians locate veins more accurately during procedures such as injections and IV lines.

She spoke through her pathway from undergraduate study into industry, covering research placements, internships and her current role. Her reflections on questioning direction, seeking advice and building confidence through experience resonated across the room.

Building confidence through experience, rather than having everything mapped out from the start.
— Ellaby Hansen

The question session extended well beyond the presentation, with students continuing the conversation afterwards and gathering around Ellaby with further questions. The discussion carried into the evening, with a number of Curtin Campus residents staying on for dinner.

By the time the evening wound down, smaller groups were still in conversation, reflecting the level of interest and engagement throughout.
