PROSH at St Cat’s: A 95-Year UWA Tradition

At 4.00am, our residents stepped into the dark already in motion. By 5.00am, campus had shifted, music playing, energy building, the day underway before sunrise.

More than 100 St Catherine’s College residents made their way to Claremont Quarter in suits, bald caps and full PROSH spirit. Papers sold quickly, tins filled and conversations carried across the morning as our residents moved through the streets together.

It’s so much fun to be out here with your friends, representing the community, the College and representing UWA.
— Catalina Cox

The energy built well before the day itself. From Quiz Night to PROSHlympics, residents showed consistent involvement across the lead-up, not just on the morning.

It was incredible to see so many residents get involved across the lead-up and on the day itself. There’s a real culture here around showing up, getting behind a cause and doing it together.
— Ethan Hancock

That momentum carried through to PROSHession, where residents performed choreography set to Hotel Room Service, combining fresher routines with their own creativity to close the day.

PROSH remains one of The University of Western Australia’s most established student traditions. Now in its 95th year, it brings students together to raise funds for charities supporting people experiencing homelessness, alongside broader mental health and community initiatives. What began in 1931 has grown into one of Western Australia’s largest single-day fundraising efforts.

PROSH was a massive success this year, with over 1000 students involved and more than $41,000 raised.
— Ollie Barrett

For St Catherine’s College, now in its 80th year, PROSH remains a moment where tradition meets participation, bringing residents together in support of a shared cause.

You can still support the cause by making a donation to PROSH.
