Most recently, Alexis served as Event Manager for the College Row RSD Ball, one of the largest events on the inter-college calendar. The annual Ball brings together students from all five College Row colleges for a night of celebration and connection.
“Seeing everyone on the dance floor and enjoying themselves was probably my favourite part of the night.”
For Alexis, leading the event was both a challenge and a highlight of her university experience.
“Planning the RSD Ball was one of the most rewarding experiences of my time at university,” Alexis said. “As Event Manager, I took on the responsibility of coordinating one of the largest inter-college events of the year, which challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and develop my leadership, communication and event management skills.”
After months of planning, Alexis said the most memorable moment was seeing the event come to life.
“Seeing everyone on the dance floor and enjoying themselves was probably my favourite part of the night. After months of planning, it was rewarding to see everything come together.”
The experience gave Alexis the opportunity to develop practical skills, grow in confidence and help create a memorable night for students across the College Row community.
Reflecting on her time at St Catherine’s, Alexis encourages new residents to make the most of the opportunities available to them.
“Say yes to opportunities,” she said. “Getting involved in College life is the easiest way to make friends and get the most out of your university experience.”
For Alexis, saying yes has led to new friendships, meaningful leadership experiences and the chance to play an active role in the vibrant community that makes College life so memorable.
