As the world celebrates #ThankATeacherDay, St Catherine’s would like to put a spotlight on our residents who are studying to become teachers.

We spoke with one of RAs, Tilly Johnston about what made her pursue teaching, as well as her amazing work with Teach Learn Grow.

In 1928 a small group of women formed the Women’s College Fund Committee (WCFC). Among these women were Dr Roberta Jull, H.E Whitfield and M.E Wood, whose names you will still see on our walls today. This committee aimed to establish a residence for women from Western Australia and beyond to live and study together, at a time where women faced significant barriers in achieving an education.

As a tertiary residential college of 440 students, St Cat’s has had an extraordinary year! As the year comes to a close, let's take a look back on our research from the past year.

St Catherine’s outstanding competitive spirit results in masses of support at all sporting and artistic inter-college events.

St Catherine’s College has many small clubs which are started by our very own residents. Recently we sat down with Ella Croft and Ben Quick, the co-creators of the St Catherine’s Grandma Club.

The Blue Tree Project is a community program focused on encouraging people to break down the stigma around mental health and to spread the message that “it’s ok not be ok.”

We recently hosted the second Arts, Business, Law and Design faculty dinner, with many special guests attending.

I was surprised by a lot of things about the College. I used to stay at Uni Hall before I came here, and when I relocated I found that St Cat’s was much more focused on community spirit, which I love.

St Catherine’s College hosts four faculty dinners each year; two Science and two Arts. All residents are invited and welcome to attend.
